📲 TikTok

America couldn’t last without TikTok for more than 24 hours (lol)! In all seriousness, I barely read into the situation, but I was still incredibly doubtful that whatever was supposed to happen would actually go through for very long. That being said, here’s my two cents on the matter:

Tons of creators’ businesses have heavily benefited from the app and its features to generate revenue. For a lot of people, this app meant everything to them—and I can see why!

As for me, I felt less emotional about the whole situation for two reasons: I don’t make a ton of money off that platform, and I’ve completely shifted my mindset on social media over the last two years. Social media used to be a place where I tried to generate as much attention as possible without any real goal. Now, I use social media to generate specific attention from a specific group of people that I genuinely care about. This shift has led to some awesome connections, relationships, and even business opportunities!

Because of this internal mindset shift, I’ve been posting and building traction on every platform I can, so my name is never fully tied to just one platform. A situation like what happened with TikTok wouldn’t rattle me too much. I never want to feel biased toward a platform; instead, I aim to use every platform as a gateway to my website or email list!

TikTok aside, this week Aaron and I continue to get lots of fun gigs through Integrity Grove, which is encouraging—though, I can’t lie, it can get a bit overwhelming at times! Aaron and I started this last June with one word in mind: “momentum.” And boy, once you achieve momentum, it feels really good.

As for me personally, I’ve been continuing to hybrid train with weights and running 4-5 times a week. I also finished with the highest total bowling score against my friends last Monday, and I’ve been learning jiu-jitsu with my friend twice a week using YouTube tutorials. We’ve gotten super into UFC and want to learn a few things ourselves. Since we don’t have access to mats, we’ve been practicing on carpet, which makes us susceptible to pain from hard floors and carpet burns—but it’s fun nevertheless.

Good luck to all my college friends starting up school again this week! I’m cheering y’all on. Honestly, good luck to everyone—especially if you’re in a cold climate. Being cold kinda sucks.

🔮 Inspiration from This Week

🍿 VideoSURPRISING FRIENDS WITH BODY TRANSFORMATION!! – I used to watch David Dobrik daily and he’s been off the grid for two years so seeing a vlog from the man was inspiring, especially since it’s based around being healthy which I’ve been more passionate about for the last few years.
