What’s up team. I always feel like I’m typing a text message to a friend I haven’t checked in on for a while when I’m writing these. Hope y’all are doing well! In all honesty, I’m sitting here typing this the day before it goes out, feeling both excited and exhausted as ever. For the month of June, I’ll be back on my personal content “grind.” I’ve got so much cooking, and I’m excited to see how everything does after a few months of keeping these systems going. As for this newsletter, I plan to probably only send it out on the first Monday morning of each month and be a little more intentional with it.
The biggest thing I’ve been working on in life overall is sustainability. As I transition into this next stage of business where things operate a little differently, I’m trying to build a systematic approach to communicating what I do as clearly as possible. I’ve learned that you can never communicate too much. Another aspect of sustainability has been finding more things to do in my own time, like golf. I’m hot trash at it, but I go quite a bit and enjoy learning the sport. I’m at the point where I can make solid contact every few shots, but now I need to work on actually covering some distance or else I’ll always stay stuck where I’m at.
I’ve been enjoying little getaways every once in a while. My most recent one was to Golden, Colorado. A bunch of us who do very similar things professionally met up, worked together, hiked, etc. It was the perfect sort of trip for me. We had a place to sleep, and Cade, who we were staying with, has an office we could work in during the day. He also happens to have a lot of awesome lighting gear, so I was able to crank out lots of fun videos. And of course, the area is beautiful and vibrant, so I got to take all of that in. Contrary to a lot of places I’ve been, the cost of living there is definitely higher, but it still felt like a sustainable spot. My favorite memory was the peace I felt at the top of a short hike we did in Evergreen, watching the sunset. We were at 10,000 feet of elevation, but we could see some 14,000 foot peaks. My buddy pointed one of them out and said, “You’ve hiked that before.” Moments like that are some of the few times I’m actually proud to have hiked a few 14ers. Other than that, those things are a trip and a half to get up, haha.
Like I said, I’m exhausted and excited, which isn’t a bad place to be. Cheers to this next month.
